[ The beep! sounds and for a moment Conner gets tongue-tied. He coughs to clear his throat, feeling suddenly awkward talking and leaving a message. ]

M'gann- uh. Hey. It's Conner. Get back to me when you can-- [ AKA IMMEDIATELY OR ELSE ] --it's about your nomination.

Anyways, I'll... see you around.

[M'gann gets the message about half an hour or so after he'd left it, and wastes almost no time returning it.]

—Hey, Conner! [it comes out a little awkward at first, since she hasn't yet given him the name from her point in time... looks like the future her is as predictable as ever, though.] Just... returning your call! Um, what's up?

[ They're together right? In his mind they are... so it'd only be right that he be the one to take her to this prom event.

Conner answers on the first beep his guide gives. He was totally waiting for her callback. ] Hey- So... I guess... congratulations are in order...?

[ Agh okay no this isn't going as well as he thought it would. Why is this sort of thing not easy?! ] Are you going with anyone?

Congratulations? For... oh! You mean the prom queen thing? Haha, thanks...! I had no idea I was even nominated until someone told me.

[she laughs a little, but at his second question, her voice becomes noticeably more... sheepish.]

Oh, um, no! I mean, I do want to go, it's just... no one's really asked me...

[wow I wonder what's going through her mind right now.]

I thought we could... go together. If you want.

[ Conner frowns to himself. ]

[she's not an anime character, but this is definitely a moment where the words "doki doki" would be appropriate to describe her feelings.]

Well yeah- what else would we be? We are together-- [ Short pause. ] --aren't we?

[oh god. her heart. it cannot handle this.]

Right. We—we are. [she'd known beforehand, but... still! to actually hear it from him, rather than secondhand! it makes her the happiest girl, don't get her wrong, but... she thinks she'll still need to get used to it. she's definitely not complaining, though.
